Description
Beautiful, vibrant, colored, spring apple blossoms. The apple flower, or blossom, symbolizes happiness and good health, according to LivingArtsOriginals.com. The delicately beautiful apple blossom precedes the growth of the apple fruit, which is known for fostering good health.

Planted from seed by early settlers, America's first apple trees grew in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in the 1600s. America's first apple nursery opened in New York in 1730 and the apple blossom became the floral emblem of Michigan in 1897 and Arkansas in 1901.

Almost all apple blossoms necessitate the use of another tree's pollen for fertilization in order to produce fruit. Pollen clings to the bodies of honeybees as they land and fly from bloom to bloom, transferring the pollen to each flower.
...............................................................................................................
The center of an apple blossom contains a large bud referred to as the king bud. Small, cluster buds surround the king bud. The king blooms first and is succeeded by the blossoming of the cluster buds.
.................................................................................................................
Apple blossoms first bloom in pink, then change to white. An occasional vibrant red can be seen in certain species.
....................................................................................................................
Sensuality and fertility are among the apple blossom's diverse meanings. Ancient Celts adorned their bedchambers with the blooms to encourage desire, the website states.
