Description
Taken along the Gulf Shores Of Alabama on a overcast day.
The sand dunes along the beach rise up 25 feet, and the forested hills nearby soar over 70 feet tall. Back in the 1500s Spanish explorers ventured across the Gulf of Mexico to map “Florida” and after some bad encounters with hostile Native Americans further south they decided to map the rest of the coast miles away from shore.
The unique composition of sand along the Alabama Gulf Coast made-up of millions of tiny granules of white quartz – allows the vacation beaches found at Kiva Dunes to remain soft and pleasant, where other North American vacation hotspots often feature sand that is coarse, rocky, and unpleasant to the skin.
