Description
This past weekend I visited the Pikes Creek Rendezvous, for the very first time. I found it to be very interesting and informative. Makes one thankful for what they have.

Reenactors encamped on Simmons Island in Kenosha Wisconsin add to the atmosphere of the Colonial through Western Fur Trade era of the 1740s through 1840s at the 16th Annual Pike River Rendezvous.

This man represents "The Candle Maker", think about it, no electricity in those days. I bet the candle maker kept very busy.
...............................................................................................................................
More than 350 reenactors in 150 camps will be encamped on Simmons Island. Talk with them about what life was like during the fur-trading era. See craft and trades demonstrations throughout the camp.
...............................................................................................................................
Throughout the event, visitors will be able to step back in time to an era when Native Americans and fur traders gathered to exchange goods and services and to celebrate. Costumed reenactors talk about what life was like at a rendezvous during the fur-trading era and will demonstrate the crafts and trades of the time.
