Description
This was my very first time at this event, which is held each summer. May I add it was very interesting and enjoyable. Makes one feel thankful for what they have. I have a series of pictures from this event, that I will be posting.
.............................................................................................................................
Reenactors encamped on Simmons Island add to the atmosphere of the Colonial through Western Fur Trade era of the 1740s through 1840s at the 16th Annual Pike River Rendezvous. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
.............................................................................................................................
Native Americans and fur traders gathered to exchange goods and services and to celebrate. Costumed reenactors talk about what life was like at a rendezvous during the fur-trading era and will demonstrate the crafts and trades of the time.
.................................................................................................................................
Period foods, snacks and souvenirs will be available from vendors, and people are welcome to participate in games, crate crafts and try their hand at period household chores.
